I’m old enough to remember the 70’s “Nuclear War - No Thanks” slogan. I may still have an original badge in a box under the bed. It was a genuine fear at time but I have some good news on that front.
Contrary to what the media may have you believe - none of us will be dying in a nuclear war.
It’s simply not going to happen. It’s one of the few things you can be bet the house on.
This seem like a bold statement considering the dire prophecies endlessly repeated in the news cycle in response to current world events. Every regional conflict is covered in terms of increasing escalation which always leads to the inevitable conclusion that somebody's going to be reaching for the big red button.
But it’s not going to occur and the logic belong this reasoning is fairly simple.
It should be clear by now that that existing monetary system is at the point of collapse and the organisations that control the creation of credit are scrambling to replace it with an alternative model based on technocratic principles. Currently it’s a straight contest between currency debasement and technological development. The jury is still on that race and there are still a few fences to clear but one thing is certain, a nuclear war means all bets are off.
The controlling powers understand this and are simply using the nuclear threat to corral and manipulate us into behaviours that suit their final objectives. A scared population is easily exploited and nothing achieves this better than the threat of nuclear annihilation but it can only every remain that - a threat. In a strange paradox, hitting the big red button is one of the few things that is absolutely guaranteed to mess up the grand plan. After all, the current system of power is built on the availability of credit. How much will that be worth when an infinite line of credit won’t have as much real value as a bag of rice and access to clean water?
The world as it exists can only be fully understood in terms of control. It’s often presented in other terms such as wealth disparity or regional influence but essentially, it’s all about control and after a nuclear war one thing is certain - nobody’s going to be in control. The effort to engineer the transition from a debt-based fiat system to a carbon-based economy has been decades and perhaps centuries in the making. The levels of control are deep seated and have been developed slowly over generations and this will all be placed at risk in a global conflagration. In this scenario we are more likely end up with local warlords than global government.
On a more practical level the manipulation of information, at the core of the new system, requires a functioning power grid, massive data centres, international fibre optic links and satellite systems. How much of this is going to be working when the nuclear party is finally over?
Of course, you always have to take into account basic human stupidity and hubris.
The puppets carrying around the codes and cases aren’t the brightest of the bunch but, then again, they’re not really in charge either. If we ever get close to the point where a decision could be made to dust off the code book, the adults will simply take the matches away and slap the child's hand. We have to believe they have the ability to burn the house down - but they can’t be allowed to.
So, sleep easy in your beds tonight and learn to love the bomb. There are many future issues that should concern us but nuclear annihilation isn’t one of them.
